  • Today I use the iPad as my weapon of choice. A highly capable machine for music production. They even have tools and apps like the jazz drummer app soft drummer that make the experience organic. I love these sounds as much as I love my VSTs on the PC.

  • Skittish

  • Skittish is another Jazz groove for my album Vertigo. I used an iPad for the offbeat piano melody and a pack I created for circuit tracks. I like this groove because it includes a scat singing vocal as a melody. I was also able to incorporate scenes with the Circuit Tracks. I am still getting used to Circuit Tracks but having fun solving for the limitations along the way.

  • Finally chose the name of the first album. This song represents my continued venture into mystery music. I use the Circuit Tracks as my weapon of choice. I wanted to create a tune that had harshness in the beginning with the drums and gravely bass lines but ended in a smooth melody. I’m all about contrast.

  • The Soul Forge is my greatest attempt yet at making Jazz tunes. I am at the beginning stages of learning the various elements of Jazz and testing out various tools to produce music in this style. Still have a long way to go before I am comfortable making music in this genre but this track represents my early experimentation. Hope you enjoy!

Circuit Tracks Quick Review

Circuit Tracks is a groovebox by Novation. Its benefits and limitations are the ultimate mix for any musician or composer looking to create 8 track compositions.

This new version has the ability to create scenes and house up to 64 projects per loaded pack. A pack contains projects, samples and synth presets. The synth is configurable when connected to a computer. Plus you get 300 seconds of sample time for up to 64 samples.

The biggest benefit is in the interface which you will notice has no screen. So listening to your track is a must. Also you must learn to use your muscle memory to navigate the device. Which is so easy you'll find this to be Circuit Tracks best benefit.

Mister E. Muzik is all about music for mysteries, suspense and the thriller genre. Dangerous Music represents my underground hip hop roots. Grimy music for the maladjusted. This concept album is a tribute to work as a poet and storyteller. It was the main inspiration for doing this website.
